The Youth Hub 3 (Higher Level) is for Second and Third Year students and is in line with the guidance set out in the Junior Cycle Specification for Irish (L2) and the Framework for Junior Cycle.
- Each unit consists of seven stages: Stage 1: Literature and Culture, Stage 2–6: Communication Skills and Stage 7: Review and Self-Assessment.
- The Learning Outcomes are interpreted as clear learning objectives.
- A list of the relevant Learning Outcomes for the three strands is provided at the beginning of each phase.
- There is a unit for other literature recommended by the NCCA, including novel, drama and short stories.
- A Presentation Section containing a variety of content, vocabulary and methods for presenting a wide range of topics, assisting students in preparing for MRB 2.
- There are regular references to Assessment for Learning (MCF) in the book.
- Highlights activities that would be suitable for Classroom-Based Assessment

- Students can self-assess using the tickboxes in the 'Learner Self-Awareness: Self-Assessment' sections.
- Aspects of Irish culture and Gaeltacht life are discussed in a comprehensive manner.
- Literacy is emphasized with key expressions and preliminary work in the listening section.
- Grammar is taught in an integrated manner, with a separate grammar unit which provides further study opportunities for students, and ensures language awareness.
- Each unit has a multimodal question.
